Away from the city and into the wider Lothian region, you will discover a varied and interesting landscape. West Lothian is home to the Pentland Hills which are often covered in deep snow during the winter. They run for about 20 miles starting just outside Edinburgh and carry on towards the historc town of Biggar. There are many fantastic hiking and mountain biking trails to explore with forests, rivers and reservoirs to see onroute.

East Lothian takes in the scenic route along the Forth of Firth heading towards Dunbar. This is where you will find many world class golf courses including Muirfield which hosted the British Open in 2013. There are many fantastic beaches along the coast which can rival the best in Europe on a sunny day. Yellowcraig with its white sand beach is a very popular day out and easily reached from the Edinburgh & Lothian holiday parks - its a great place for a famaily picnic and has a children's playpark as well.
